i am so tired of this stuff. who cares.

i actually saw an article on guitarworld that outlined all the evidence it has that miley doesn’t like iron maiden and it’s like

wow, thanks journalism. this is stuff i want to read. since when does guitar world give any fucks about stuff like this? write stuff about some new gibson signatures or something. what is and isn’t on miley cyrus’ ipod is none of anyone’s business but hers. what a gossipey article.

people get so much satisfaction out of exposing people as fake and stuff when no one knows anything. no one has physically looked through her music. and you know what? i listen to pixies. i have every pixies album. i love them. but they’re not even on my ipod. am i poser?

i have defended miley too many times for my own liking lately but good god she’s just a kid give her a fucking break. if she’s being insincere, well that’s her business. who are we really to make that call, who made us the all-knower of what goes on in miley’s head? wouldn’t that piss you the fuck off if someone said that about you?

if her poserhood has anything to do with being a disney pop star or something, i think that’s pretty shallow. when i was a kid i was pretty into nsync. and if i made music as an 11 year old it would probably have sounded like nsync. or miley’s shit. what do i have to sing about at age 11 than boys and the mall? but then people grow up. then people start liking shit. i didn’t like soundgarden till this year and i’m 22. people change, people are allowed to. she’s not locked in to the disney image forever yet people aren’t allowing anything else. we all act like we weren’t stupid kids at some point. no one is birthed from the womb belting bob dylan lyrics.

are you expecting a teenager to sing songs like stairway to heaven or something? what’s a kid know about any of that? expectations are a bit high.

her cover of teen spirit is atrocious. most covers of teen spirit are. and that’s that.

i just. i don’t get this whole thing where people are just so easy to judge people. maybe there is damning proof (thanks to guitarworld) that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about and then at bottom of that line is

who the fuck cares. she’s a kid. her music taste or lack thereof is not journalism and not something we should make our business or gain satisfaction from because we judge.

music should be about how much you like it and not much about how much or little anyone else does.

sick of fake fan culture. they’re like acne. you’re not gonna die cause it’s on your face. it’s ugly and it sucks but god, it’s just an irritating bump on the skin that goes away if you leave it the fuck alone and stop touching your face and aggravating it.
